Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Originality of Research, The authors certify that this manuscript is original, has been written by the stated authors, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication by another journal.
  • All manuscripts should be prepared and conformed according to Argentine Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery Information for Authors.
  • Contributions to Authorship: Each author must have made a significant contribution to the conception or completion of the manuscript and is willing to share the responsibility for the content of the paper. Specifically, authorship is limited to those who made a direct and substantial contribution to each of the four following areas: a) research (study design and conception; data collection; or data analysis and interpretation); b) manuscript development (writing the manuscript or providing critical revisions that are important for the intellectual content); c) approval of the final version of the manuscript files submitted to the Journal and d) accountability (agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved).
  • Authorship Responsibility: All authors assume overall responsibility and guarantees the scientific integrity of the work as a whole.
  • Ethics in Publishing: The Argentine Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery is committed to follow the highest standards in ethical publishing. Authors should inform that the manuscript was approved by the Institutional Clinical Research Ethics Committee. If the work involves the use of animal, the author should ensure that the manuscript contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s) have approved them. For human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans. Appropriate consents, permissions and releases must be obtained where an author wishes to include case details or other personal information or images of patients and any other individuals in a publication. Written consents must be retained by the author and provided to the Editor on request.

  • Clinical Trial Registration: In accordance with the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Argentine Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery Publications requires that prospective clinical trials be registered in a public trials registry at or before the time of first patient enrollment as a condition of consideration for publication. Registration in any registry that is a primary register of the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP) (e.g: www.actr.org.au, www.clinicaltrials.gov, www.ISRCTN.org, www.umin.ac. or www.trialregister.nl) is acceptable. Registration must be indicated by providing the unique study number assigned by the approved registry on the Application for Publication form.

Articles selected

We hereby present comments on a selection of articles recently published in internationally acclaimed medical journals. We believe these papers deserve special attention due to the quality and importance of the conclusions reached by the studies. Our objective is to keep an open look on new aspects of scientific research or review articles that may, in turn, update aspects of our own medical specialty.
Also, the Editorial Committee will consider suggestions on recent articles that the readers think deserve to be commented in this section (revista@caccv.org.ar)
