Resumen
Los leiomiosarcomas (LMS) son tumores raros originados en las células del músculo liso, y constituyen el 5-7% de los sarcomas de tejido blando. Afectan principalmente a la vena cava inferior (VCI) y tienen un pronóstico sombrío. El tratamiento estándar es la resección quirúrgica completa (R0), que varía según la ubicación del tumor.
Presentamos el caso de una paciente de sexo femenino con LMS en la VCI en la zona II, a quien se le realizó una resección completa en bloque del tumor sin ninguna reconstrucción posterior. No se notificaron complicaciones.
La R0, que incluye la masa tumoral y la extirpación en bloque del riñón derecho, con ligadura de la vena renal izquierda sin reconstrucción, es segura en casos con drenaje venoso colateral suficiente, y evita las complicaciones de la reconstrucción con injertos.
